What a great weekend! Friday and Saturdays weather were perfect. We spent our days walking around with the dogs, reading our books, and eating, then repeating! It was great. We got rain late Sat. night and on and off Sunday morning which made packing up a bit crazy, but no biggie. Heres what we ate (the best part of the trip!)
friday:
trout with lemon and butter
grilled asparagus
whomp biscuits in the dutch oven
smores with dark chocolate
saturday:
bacon, eggs, sister schuberts orange rolls, strawberries
hot dogs, leftover smoked bbq, chips
brie, wickles pickles, and crackers
stew with beef, pototao, onion and carrot
sunday:
pancakes out of the spray can....very interesting! bacon and eggs
We hope to make it a point to camp more often and try to do it with friends and family. Mom- thanks for stocking us up with cast iron, the dutch oven was so great, cooked the rolls perfectly and the stew was fantastic! Plus we cooked bacon and eggs in it! Dad check out the new camping kitchen, it was so helpful when it came to dishwashing time, gave us room to use the picnic table for cards and eating! We've decided the only things we need are some tent poles for tarps and another lantern...rechargeable LED :)
